Challenge:
Designing a process, in which actors from NGOs, the German government, and international organizations can openly discuss their points of view on the matter of pre-departure orientation courses for migrants coming to Germany. Long-term goal: Preparing migrants in the best possible way for the continued integration process in Germany.
Outcome:
In close collaboration with the IOM Berlin project team, we designed and facilitated creative workshop sessions, during which participants analyzed their respective tasks and responsibilities within the integration process to identify collective avenues for actions to improve the resettlement process. Participants adopted the perspective of migrants going through the process and identified several next steps to tackle in an upcoming project proposal. By using innovative methods, the sessions were transformed from a standard boardroom meeting to an interactive discussion that yielded actionable results to achieve the long-term goal.
